View Full Version : [ubuntu] Resolution of login screen

August 23rd, 2009, 07:28 AM
I have Ubuntu 9.04 64bit with dual monitors (1 24" & 1 23").

Within Ubuntu, the 24" is set at 1920x1080 and the 23" is set at 1680x1050 both in 16:10

When the login screen is displayed the screen resolution is too big and looks a lot lower than either of the two resolutions I have set up within Ubuntu and it just looks bad.

I am using the open source video drivers.

Does anyone know please how I can alter the logon screen resolution to more closely reflect my monitor(s) max resolution capability?

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 with a 1920x1080 screen and 1280x1024 screen. I have a similar problem where both monitors show 1280x1024 which just looks bad on the bigger screen.

When I'm logged in the resolutions for each screen are correct.

Are there any answers for this problem? A quick look at the 9.10 startup options seems to offer only a limited set of resolutions for use.
