Ubuntu Updates Problems

My updates are not shown as 'Updates available' in the notification area anymore and I think its because I changed the software sources when I was installing Moovida media center. How do i fix this?

did you make a backup of your repos list?

No I didn't make a backup

To add to the current problem, I tried using the select best server in the software sources menu, and my original server (Ghana) dissapeared and was not even in the country list. How do I get it back?
