I want to install a Linux on my Windows Vista using VM. I found this link and installed the latest server version. But what's the login id and password?

Im not sure I understand. You want to run Ubuntu server edition in a virtual machine? Then why not just download the server edition and run it in the virtual machine: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-server

I dont know what link you have there....looks like some kind of very old versions of ubuntu as zip files?
