Ok I just bought my very own underwater housing for my digital camera.

And it has this O-Ring. My question is: when I store the digital camera (in my house for instance) should I leave the O-Ring on? Or should I put it somewhere?

Best regards,
Cristian

Definitely keep it on. that will ensure that the watertight seal it uses stays tight. Only remove it after your dives to clean out any salt/debris that may interfere with the seal or with the stability of the O-ring.

Seals work best when they're left in place as much as possible. Do make sure you clean it and if you haven't used it in a while, inspect the seals before use.

and should I leave the camera open? so the o ring isn't under pressure all the time?

The more times you open it, the more likely its gonna leak in the future.

learned that 3 years ago with my own.

Yeah I get that but what about storing it for a long time?

Nope, leave it how it would be in use (ie: closed)

Anybody found a good diveplanner for Linux??

I googled around a bit and found a planner - but it looks like it's for decompression technical diving.

Then I found JDiveLog - but thats more like a divelog.

I'm looking for something like "The Wheel" - just in a Linux version.

Any suggestions??

Got my CMAS** certificate a few weeks back.
Can't remember what it is in Padi, but I think it's Advanced Diver + Rescue Diver, correct?
