Motherboard and/or processor died on my emachines T3626. I want to upgrade the MB and CPU. I found one I like, but I'm not certain it will fit. The type (ATX) is correct, but it has a several extra ports. The ports are in the same general area, and so here is my question:

Do motherboards come with a new port plate that attaches to the case?

This may be a dumb question and I apologize if it is. I used to replace MBs for cash registers in department stores at my old job, but I've never done an upgrade on a home system.

New motherboards come with the plate but check with the specs on the the board. It should say that it does.

if the mobo doesn't come with a plate, you can make your own out of anything that does not conduct electricity - thin cardboard, etc.

crazy glue it on.
