Hi there..

i'm interested on making a new desktop approach, but first I need to know if I'm too wrong.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VBar

feedbacks welcome!

(I know we should wait for Gnome Shell, but I thnik something like picking up Shell, Mayanna, Zeitgeist, Gnome Online Desktop, and Docky and mix them up, would be better)

:D

linux gives us the freedom to do what we want, use it, i think that desktop looks pretty damn good, either way, you expand the linux market and offer us users even more choice, its a win-win for us

good luck :)

Most of what you talk of can already be done in XFCE. Vertical bars are very possible. Plugins can handle most of the functions. All you'd need to do is write a few more.

This is a screenshot I submitted to the Kuki Linux project of my AA1. I have always been a fan of vertical bars, ever since I got a widescreen monitor.

Replavce the wbar with a right xfce bar and add necessary plugins. Done.

If you build it, they will come.

If you build it, that is.
