turtle beach headset undetected

i have a fancy-pants turtle beach headset (that i got for a bargin) but i can't seem to get ubuntu to recognize it, it has: >1 usb connection <> 1 outgoing auto jack connection <> 1 input auto jack connection< i have audacity recorder and default sound recorder installed.
how to fix this issue?
