I recently installed Skype. It didn't work with pulseaudio, so I removed pulseaudio in favor of esound, as per here: http://www.econowics.com/news-from-the-net/170/skype-problem-with-audio-playback-ubuntu-810-intrepid-ibex/

That seems to have broken the sound in flash video in Firefox for me. It's buggy and either won't play, or just skips. (I thought I remembered watching flash video after I installed esound, but maybe not.) Flash works fine in Konqueror, and presumably Opera as well.

Running xubuntu 9.04, FF 3.0.13. I have the most recent adobe-flashplugin package installed, as well as adobe-flashplugin-nonfree and flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound.

Whatever it was seems to have sorted itself out after my most recent apt-get update and reboot.
