Some dumb questions about awesome

Hello all, I'm running awesome wm and need some help. How do you move a window to another desktop in awesome? I have pidgin open but only want to refer to it occasionally, so I'd like it on a different desktop, without moving the chat window aswell. Minimising it would do too. Also, I'm not sure how I set which window is the Master Window, sometimes Win+h resizes a window and sometimes it does not. Thank you.

Usually when somebody solves a question they put [SOLVED] in front of the title and tell us what the solution is. It just makes it easier for others searching for an answer to the same question, thanks.
