(Apparently that slip was the reason "Linux" is called "Linux".)

I knew a Linux fanboy in Georgia that claimed he was going to name his unborn child Linux. I love Linux and the OSS movement, but I hope his wife talked him out of it.

No it isnt, it was because Linus wanted to call it Freax, but the server maintainer disagreed with that name and called it Linux without consulting Linus, although he later chose to use Linux.

I watch full screen Hulu videos every day without so much as a single problem.

The only annoyance is that full screen sometimes goes to the wrong monitor.

Seeing as Linus uses a PowerPC with Fedora, he would not be able to use Adobe Flash.

He might be using one of the open source flash plugins though.

It just had me curious. I read in some other unrelated thread a rumor that Linus reverse engineered the Adobe Flash plugin for his own computer...

If it's true- why couldn't it be shared with the rest of the oss community? Would it violate some copyright or something?

edit: and why can't you use adobe flash w/ that setup?

Flash assumes the monitor most leftward is the master. Situate it virtually leftward and it will go there.

Unless a flash instance is started earlier than the monitor is recognized. That's the annoying situation I run into, having to restart flash (ie, the browser) because I unplugged my S-video cable.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=439858Linus got much sense of humor! I'm his fan! First he brings Linux, then Git, and now this bug report! "And what's the internet without the rick-roll?" "Obi-wan Kenobi, you're our only hope".

edit: and why can't you use adobe flash w/ that setup?

Probably because Adobe don't release Flash for Linux in that architecture.

I really thought Linux would use Slackware, seeing that he knows the kernel.:P

I think you meant Linus. ;)

He said that he just wants an OS that sets up with minimal fuss. Remember, working on the kernel is his passion, not installing OS's.
