I know this problem is localized to my machine or machine configuration because I have two other computer with the same Kubuntu 9.04 64bit and do not have this issue.

The last two times I updated the kernel packages I get an error 2 when I try to boot them. I had to do some messy repairs on the machine a while back because 9.04 had a grub issue when it installed and it wouldn't boot any kernels, so I went back to 8.04 and did a distribute upgrade. Everything worked then. Right now I am up and running on kernel 2.6.28-13, the ones that haven't worked were 28-14 and 28-15.

I am using nvida fake raid for my /home but the root / is on a separate sata hard drive. From doing some forum searching I saw some old problems related to ahcpi. I remember my motherboard having that option in the bios but right now it is set to raid. Any suggestions? I may end up reinstalling the system when 9.10 comes out if it doesn't have the same grub issue.
