I can't find a ubuntu that works on my dell inspron 1545 laptop. The latest version doesn't boot up. I have tried ubuntu with dell drivers. It will boot up, but the wifi dowesn't work.
I put on another ubuntu based distro. It works better, but is far from working correctly.
I choose linux because of orca screen reader it is better than Windows screen reader, much better.
I can't get the mike to work and not the wifi, or I can't get the wifi tio work and not the mike, nor orca.

I am open to suggestions. thanks tom_d

Hrmm. Not sure why 9.04 wont boot on yours. Boots well on my son's 1545. But if you can get 8.10 to boot on it, Plug it into the network via the ethernet port and run the restricted driver manager to install either fw-cutter or the STA drivers for Broadcom wireless cards.

System-> Administration -> Hardware Drivers
