Trying to install .NET Framework within an XP session on an Ubuntu Jaunty machine but it just attempts to connect and hangs without any error messages.

What am I doing wrong?

I had that problem with VMware, it worked in virtual box though. I also used a different version of XP though. What version of XP are you using? I think the one that failed was XP lite, SP2.

Also, what do you need .NET for? So many things will not work in vmware or virutal box.. If you tell me, i might be able to save you a few hours. I've tried to get so much stuff working then time searching, to eventually find out that it can't be done.

XP Professional is what I'm using.

I'm trying out an eBay 'sniping' program which enables you to throw your highest bid in at the very last few seconds before a bidding period ends. The program is called GavelThief and it needs the .Net stuff.
