View Full Version : [ubuntu] haveing really bad trouble please help

everything was working fine then i turned off my computer unhooked the hard drive to see if i could hook up another hard drive it didnt work then i hooked mine back up with ubuntu latest one and i got this error KERNEL PANIC NOT SYNCING ATTEMPTED TO KILL THE IDLE TASK please someone help

Agree with the above, run memtest from the install disk.
My guess is you bumped something.

Yeah i always do that. Check connections and re-seat ram. Although mis-seated ram just makes that beeping sound.
EDIT: when i say check connections, i mean push them in/ re-plug in

thanks so much man i never would have thought switching those memory sticks around would have doe anything but ne ways thanks so much i thought my **** was done for
