Right so my problem is that when I plug a monitor into my Aspire One with Xubuntu on it the FN+F5(or 6) button that is supposed to switch between the monitors doesn't work.

Also when I change the resolution in xorg.conf to 1280x1024 then after reboot it says that something is wrong and it's going into "low graphics mode" resulting in a slight constant trembling in the screen.

And this of course also affects the aspire one's screen, not the external one so they are both in 1280x1024 and that on a 10,9" screen is not pretty : p

So is there any relatively pain-free way I can make this work? I'm quite new at Linux but I know the basics.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have the Aspire One kernel from http://www.aspireonekernel.com/

having a simialr problem with my Dell Inspiron mini 10. When I connect an external monitor, the resolution of the mini's monitor changes...any help with this would be nice.
