I just cleared all traces of MS Windows from my computer, and placed Ubuntu onto the boot drive. Now that the 2nd HD is available how do I "format" (for the lack of a better term) or erase its contents? I tried moving files to the trash but Trash is not available (grayed out).

sudo apt-get install gparted
system -> administration -> partition editor
if you never plan to use that hard drive with a windows machine, then do yourself a favor and go ahead and format it to ext3.
