District 9 -- Your Thoughts?

I saw District 9 tonight. I actually thought it was pretty good. My wife wasn't as big a fan as myself. I'm just wondering how the aliens got put in the concentration camps if they possessed so much weaponry initially. Kinda confused with that entire premise.

Just another "racism bad, multicult good" propaganda flick. Come on, south africa? Are they going for the "painfully obvious stupid metaphor" academy award?

Yeah, the beginning was a "painfull obvious metaphor". Stealing TVs etc. But once it got into the story I found it quite enjoyable. Definitely one of the more interesting movies this year, but it had it's cliche moments

I enjoyed it, but it's not something I'm dying to watch again. I found the main character sort of annoying. Whatever his name was.

BS. It's not racist, it's a not-so-subtle attempt to remind us how mostrous humans can be, with a decent mix of south african apartheid and nazi concentration camps. It's a two hour long godwin's law against humanity.

Do not pay to see this film.

There was this Drupal programmer (fanatic?) at my recent lug meeting. He seemed to be a fan of the movie. I don't care for these kind of movies. (I didn't see it)
