When you're young and immature and new to the internet, you'll think the way everyone is communicating is considered hip and cool, and attempt to emulate it. Of course, depending on the sites visited (especially a particular image board), it yields disastrous results..

The '90s did have the same problem. Just feed some kids a few *scene .nfo files by accident. Watch the AlT-CaPs fly in AOL chat :P

Most people on the net are assholes.

Yeah, but there is also the few people who are genuinely helpful and cool to everyone. I try to be one of them, and I think that if more people did, then maybe the internet would be a better place.
