I have a Compaq 17xl365 Intel Pentium III with 384 meg ram and 15 gig hard drive.
Installed ubuntu latest desktop version
Wireless card USB Linksys wusb100 seems to work fine after windows driver loaded.
Everything seems to work but then
Unstable-unpredictable lockups-no keyboard, no mouse, can only power off.

I am new to linux and need some guidance, Please!!!!!!!
This is the error on bootup

Boot from (hd0,0 ext3 daf1d29c-930c-4b71-a09-bc6a9a5ea5b5
Starting up
[0.000000] ACPI: Vendor "PTLTD " System ? BSDT " Revsion 0x6040000 has a known acp bios problem
[0.000000] ACPI: Reason: Multiple problems. This is a non-recoverable error

Is there a better linux for this particular laptop then ubuntu.
I am impressed with the desktop ubuntu has.
Sincerely
Grwats02
