Hello,
I was wondering if in Ubuntu (specifically server-edition 64-bit 9.04 and onward) it is possible to manually patch and/or upgrade packages from the repositories, but yet have the package manager update/upgrade/patch the same packages when the repositories get the newer version?
I am okay if it basically overwrites my manually-applied patches/upgrades, just as long as I still have my own configuration files (at least, the ones needed to keep the program working).
