The title says it all I guess.
I know how to add a poll to a thread, but how do I add something so that people can rate the thread?
Thanks.

Only mods and admins have that option. Us plebes don't.

We should get that.....

We should get that.....
Why?
A subjective opinion on how "good" a thread is doesn't seem to me to bring anything of value to a forum.

I have three options under thread tools:
1. Show Printable Version
2. Email this page
3. Subscribe to this Thread

OK I'm wrong, I was sure I saw the option when I was just a normal user. Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, :P but shouldn't the rating stars be coffee beans instead of roseshttp://ubuntuforums.org/images/icons/icon5.gif

They're actually ribbons if you look closely.

I think the reason normal users don't have the ability to do this is to stop every single thread in general help being rated, it would clutter the view etc.
You'll find very few threads that actually have a rating, even the staff don't use it that often

They should still be coffee beans. :P Or maybe Ubuntu logos...
Anyway, something a little more Ubuntuish...

These are called rosettes.
They are a bit tiny so you might not see them well, but here's what they look like in real life:
EDIT: Why hasn't the picture come up? I edited the tags out to put this in btw

That doesn't answer the question about whether they are roses or ribbons and why they are Not coffee beans or ubuntu logos.

I'm pretty sure it does.
We never got around to making a custom icon for that...don't know why.

Right, here's a bigger version of the rosettes used in thread ratings:

I checked the link, you'd need to put this into the [img] tag: http://iangrey.org/images/rosette.jpg
I wouldn't though - the image is quite large ;)
