I am looking for a good mp3 player. preferably around 8gb and under $100. expandable memory is a plus. don't say sansa I've had 2 or 3 and all of them have ended up breaking.

CNET has a good MP3 Player finder. You can configure you preferences one by one and drill down to what you need.

I've had a Creative Zen for a while now and still working great. Also it has a SD card slot to upgrade memory if u need to later.

cool thanks i might pick one of those up. i just realized a fix for my current mp3 player though so ill stick with that for awhile. for those with sansa mp3 players don't use unmount volume just unplug it thats what was causing mine to brick

I reccommend the Sansa Fuze anyway. Theres an 8GB model, and they have MicroSD card slots.

Not that expensive, starting at $99.99.

Please dont hate me for this.

I second, as I always have, the Creative Zen.

Sansa fuze v1. Very very durable. Also, get the case, it really gives it some decent protection.

It's expensive, but I still reccomend the COWON S9 for the best music playback, customization options and format support I have ever experienced.

The Cowon D2 is also a good choice if you don't want to shell out for an S9. I bought the D2 and can confirm a Kingston 16gb sd card works (with 4gb d2 and a firmware upgrade)
