Authentication failure error

Upgraded to 9.4 I think I had it set to log in automatically, I haven't used it in a while. I am getting Authentication error that won't go away. How can I force it to go to the login screen?

I'm in 8.04, and I think it works differently than in 9.04, I'd try Alt+F2, then type in gconf-editor, then apps, then gnome-sessions, there should be a check-box for automatic login, just uncheck it.

This might be different in 9.04 though. Probably somewhere in gconf, - you might have to search around in the various headings.
