Has any of the musicians on the forums been influenced by his work?

Aw man. this is very sad to hear. He did so much for the musicians and guitarists the world around. I own a Les Paul Studio and it is by far the best guitar ive ever played.

saw it on the news yesterday, Les Paul aged 94, died and i'd like to say i play an Epiphone Les Paul (Zakk Wylde) Bullseye, its great and i love it!

propped it up with a pillow on my bed and used built-in webcam on a dell mini 9 to take the pic - the red knob goes up to 11 :)

EDIT: Post Pictures Please!

Has any of the musicians on the forums been influenced by his work?Every musician that plays an electric guitar has been influenced by his work, whether they know it or not.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Birdseye guitar. It's the best electric I've ever owned. I can't afford Gibson, but Epiphone Les Pauls are great guitars, too.

I'm not a musician, but I am a great lover of music, and so I mourn his loss accordingly.

The Register has a good article as well.

I've never owned a Gibson (I'm a Tele man, myself) but I've lusted for a few including a friend's old Les Paul.

We'll miss you, Les!

My wife also has an Epiphone Les Paul, She had a Gibson 69 earlier. The Gibson was slightly better, but for the price the Epiphone is a bargain.

Rest in peace Les Paul.

PS
Worlds tallest dog also just died, it was called Gibson.
Strange coincidence.

Very sad, I owned a Les Paul in my younger days but had to sell it to pay the rent and for food, still I miss that guitar I'll never have another:(

Les Paul was one great guitarist. He was so technical in his playing, but had a talent of not showing off or sounding like a technical mess.

The guitar he invented changed the face of the blues and rock genres forever. His style of playing influenced those who influence great guitarists of the modern day.

The Les Paul isn't a guitar for me, but the Gibson Custom Shop Black Beauty version looks beautiful and plays as marvelously as it looks.

I've got a '67 Korina Flying V, but that's the only Gibson. I play metal (Necrophagist, Symphony X, Dream Theater, Racer X) so I'm not influenced terribly much by him, but damn was he fun to listen to.

Rest in peace, Les Paul. The whole world mourns for you.

Gibson Les Paul Studio edition. Cherry mahogany, no (lacquer) finish. Its a testament to simplicity and beauty in my opinion. You don't need flash to have a beautiful guitar. :guitar:
