Started a thread the other day in begginer.http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1238310.

I tried using http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/separatehome to move my home folder to a separate hard drive.

Now I can't boot Ubuntu at all.

Home does not seem to exist. When I go in on a live cd Home and home backup are still on the 10g drive like they didn't move.

How can I get home moved to my 80g and working?

BTW I tried adding to the original beginner thread last night for help but got no answers.

Would I be better off to just start over with a custom install?
All my pics and docs are on my thumb drive safe in the drawer anyway.

I got it.
Thanks for all the help.:(

Ended up doing a fresh install.

/ and swap on the 10g
/home on the 80g

Now all my places automatically save to the bigger drive.
It's a shame that it has to be so hard.

well i have just now laid eyes on this post and i was going to recommend the fresh install anyways...its not a good idea to move stuff once ubuntu settles in!!

I'm starting to figure that out. Every install I have done has run fine.
Then I go messing with it.:)
