Msi g31m3 v2

I have set up several dual boot systems with Ubuntu 8_04 with little problem.
For some reason with this new ( MSI G31M3 V2 motherboard with Intel Celeron 430 CPU Product code BX80557430) it will not install Ubuntu.
The system loads XP with no problem.
Ubuntu9_04 will not load at all on either i386 or AMD 64 version.
It will recognize the 8_04 AMD64 and pop up the installation screen, but after around 1 minute after clicking the install selection, I get the message:
I/O Error
Error Reading Boot CD

Hi, trying checking the cd for defects, which is one of the options at the main menu of the Ubuntu live cd.

I checked multiple CDS with 8_04 & 9_04 i386 and AMD64.
The problem is the motherboard not the CDs.
I got this reply from MSI:

"Dear Customer, MSI only supports on windows platform,..."

Any links to Ubuntu compliant motherboards would be appreciated.
