Unsought

I've done a little bit of searching, and I'm still pretty new to the whole Linux thing... I can't seem to find a good messenger program for Yahoo Messenger. I know that Yahoo doesn't support linux. I know that Pidgin will let me log into Yahoo.

I want to be able to use voice chat, and video chat though.

So can someone please tell me of a program that let's me log into Yahoo, and still use these features?

Thanks in advance.

You will also want to try Empathy Instant Messenger. It's like a simplified version of Pidgin, but it also includes audio and video support. You can use audio or video with someone once you've opened a conversation window for them.

It's available in "Add/Remove Applications".

i have never been able to get the voice stuff to work, but the cam will. make sure that you choose the cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com server tho and the -16 protocol. NOTHING else works well and will give you a bunch of errors when your online - otherwise it is the best working one i have found - and make sure you set up the ppa stuff from them and update automatically its worth it. its all at the link above. good luck. duke
