My internet works out of the box after pppoe conf, and then stops after a restart?

Just installed ubuntu yesterday, problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to configure my wireless.
Is there a way through terminal?
When I install, or run from cd, everything works great, automatically detects my router, and then I connect to pppoe via terminal, and I'm up and running! But after a restart, my wireless dish shows"device not managed" and my router has vanished. I don't get it.

I appreciate the reply, but this didn't seem to do it.
Is there a tool to manage the wireless devices?

I had the same issue in that my internet connection never auto starts after a reboot. Although I am not using wireless, the following wiki helped me.
