When are we getting isos for DVD? I have to buy CD-R only for Ubuntu releases :(

You never "have to" purchase DVD or CD images of Ubuntu, it's just that some folks make them available and charge a minimal fee to cover the cost of the media and shipping. Canonical will actually send you them for free if you ask them.

The more common approach is to download the ISO images from the GetUbuntu website and burn your own media. Link is below:

However, realize that the DVD contains the same OS and app stuff as the CD, it just has additional languages.

You can also burn a CD sized .iso to a DVD and it will work, you don't have to use a CD.

or you could just get a pack of cd-rw/+rw and just use the same cd over again every 6months when a new distro is released!

Or do like Stlsaint said but use a USB. Make a bootable USB verses a bootable CD, and write over it in 6 months.
