Can't update pkg mgr

I tried to run the updates. They show but when I click install, I get alot to these:

W: Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/e/e2fsprogs/e2fslibs_1.39-1ubuntu0.1_i386.deb
404 Not Found

So, I am shut out of updates!

I tried to upgrade to Feisty and got this:

Also got something similar when I tried to upgrade to Feisty. I'm using Edgy, but would like to upgrade to 8.0x.

Hi and Edgy has reach End of Life and is no longer supported along with Feisty 7.04. You may choose to install a newer version like Hardy 8.04 or Jaunty 9.04.
