View Full Version : [all variants] USB Wifi Adapter Interference

Hey all; I've come across a problem that involves two wifi USB dongles. Both are plugged into tower PC's that otherwise couldn't connect to the Internet, as I can't run cables through my house at the moment.

Since bringing them both online, they seem to cancel each other out; both computers sporadically lose their connection and regain it within a couple seconds. During this time the computer doesn't recognize the network as being disconnected (or rather, it loses its connection to the internet, but not the router itself).

I've been told that because the wireless dongles operate on the same frequency and are interfering with one another, and there's some truth to this: these incidents don't happen when one computer is offline.

I built a cantenna for one USB dongle, and while it extended the range and gave me a little hope by reducing the amount of disconnects, the problem still happens daily. Any thoughts?

I really hate to bump this, but this is becoming a problem.
