View Full Version : [all variants] home parititon on NFS?

Simple: is it possible to use a NFS mounted partition as a home partition? I'm pretty sure the system mounts whatever's in /etc/fstab long before you need the home partition, so is there anything else stopping me?

The reason being that my NAS server has a drive with a lot of unused space, and my linux partition is quite small (30G).

EDIT: This is mainly for a proof-of-concept: I'd probably have insanely slow access speeds if I actually did this.

Thanks
