View Full Version : [xubuntu] How do I create a partition please?

I've got xubuntu running on an old Compaq Armada 1750 - it's pretty impressive really - well I'm happy :-) I even have WiFi working!

However, I have run out of talent, I think I need to create a partition to load up the Compaq "bios" sound drivers. Apparently they sit on a partition of their own.

Confession time, I have no idea how to navigate the disc structures in Linux and whilst I really should learn I can't ever see me getting that far into it again. Admitting laziness isn't the best method of asking for help but I figured you guys could probably help me out in the time it takes me to find the raw info.

Please, any advice should be really simple as I've got lost several times on this journey already!

..you want to access a hidden partition on your laptop where the sounddrivers are in ? (recovery partition)

If you're talking about using your MS Windows sound drivers in Linux, there's no way to do that, regardless of how you have your partitions set up.
