My monitor is an ASUS VH226H.
I managed to install previous versions, but I can't get 9.04 to install, plus it was with a different display.
Previous versions I intalled using my SDTV, which only does 480i, thus the installer was a NIGHTMARE since all windows ok/next/back/cancel/etc buttons were cut off and I had to guess where they were. I really want to avoid using my TV to install it again.
Now I have a HDMI 1080p monitor so im using that.
I burned the PS3 version of the 9.04 desktop cd, installed the bootloader off the cd, then booted to OtherOS mode.
I press enter at the kboot prompt, and after a few lines of text..... my monitor keeps flashing white and grey as if it was an NES!
The flashing is the backlight as it keeps getting and losing the HDMI signal, causing it to turn on and off repeatedly. It does not go away until I hold down the power button for two beeps to turn off the PS3. I can't even switch inputs on the monitor unless I unplug the HDMI cable or perform a ahrd shutdown on the PS3!
Anybody know why this is happening?
Is there anything I can do to fix it or bypass it?
