my USB 2.0 weren't working so i updated the kernel to 2.6.30.4 but this version is incompatible with nvidia drivers. no 3D acceleration is okay at the moment but as i booted Ubuntu today my resolution was set to 800x600 instead of Full HD and i don't know how to set it back. before this problem occured i tried using another nvidia driver in "Hardware Drivers" but i couldn't activate any of them. "Display" only offers 640x480 and 800x600.

how do i set the resolution back to Full HD even without hardware acceleration?
