In the past whenever I saved data to a ubs stick it would say something like "writing to usb device" and then "can safely remove". All messages have stopped. I no longer receive any notification message.
All other messages work... jobs printing etc. I reinstalled Ubuntu, but still no USB notifications. The 2 sticks I have are not new and have successfully been used with notification in the past.
I'm not sure this would mater, but I'm running 9.04 64 bit.
