I was wondering if installfests are going to be held for the next release. I am new to Linux and have had only one minor problem with Ubuntu. That being unable to play movie DVD. I am impressed with the ease of use and what I have seen so far. If an installfest were to be held in my area I would take my laptop there to be set-up for Koala. Question will Jaunty update itself to Koala or do I wipe and start over?

I am in Chilliwack BC Canada. Running Ubuntu 9.04 and XP on an Acer Aspire 9402WSMi.
Pentium M 735A 1.7ghz Intel graphics media accelerator 900 80 gb HDD 1gb RAM.

If someone with some Linux smarts wanted to start a user group here I would be willing to help with organizing.

Or am I going about this wrong?

I know Chilliwack isn't downtown Vancouver, but have a look here (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CanadianTeam/Vancouver), you may find some local contacts.

I was hoping to find something a little closer. Going into Vancouver means making a day of it because of the travel time involved.

I also asked if there were plans to have installfest "parties" for the new release.
