G'day,

I was using Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit with no issues, I thought I'd try Kubuntu, I used it for a couple of weeks but prefer gnome.

I re-downloaded Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64 and burnt it to CD, when I try to install I get an error message at 59% stating that it can't continue and my CD or HDD may be damaged.

I tried downloading the iso again (from a different mirror) but get the same result

I tried custom partitions putting the swap file at the start of the disc etc but it still stops at 59%

I have tried installing from a USB startup flash drive with the same result

And now have bought a new HDD and it still stops at 59%

Any Ideas??? I am currently posting this thread running off the USB startup flash drive

Thanks for any input you can provide

Checksum your .iso and burn to a CD-R at no more than 4x. Also, check the cd for errors at the opening menu.
