The upstream documentation for the KDE document viewer says that it supports the .epub ebook format, but it doesn't seem to do so on Ubuntu/Kubuntu. Given that the maintainers appear to be making no moves to rectify this situation for the next release (the packages needed to make it happen are still in exile in "universe" and no add-on package to add the needed back end seems to be in the works either), I was wondering if it's possible to add the backend myself so that Okular can handle my ebooks for me.
