is there a way to show the gpu temperature in a panel or something similar? I was having trouble with the fan turning off but it seems to have corrected itself now but i'd like to monitor it without having to open up nvidia-settings. thanks

I have a "screenlet" daemon installed which will allow you to fire up a little sensor screen which can display a number of things ... one of them is the GPU temp on my setup.

The package is called screenlet and can be easily found in synaptic.
You may require desktop effects. I have them ... I dont know if the screenlets will work without the effects turned on. YMMV

Hope that helps.

Brandon.

thats near enough perfect thanks. i would have preferred a little "35.1" or whatever in the panel but this is grand plus i have the case temp here too:)
