hello,
Is there anyone who successfully enable git plug-in for Eclipse on Ubuntu 9.4?
Or, is there anyone who successfully manually install the latest eclipse on Ubuntu 9.4?
Could your guys share with me your experience or links?
I had really a frustrated try at EGIT(git plug-in for Eclipse).
My OS is Ubuntu 9.4, and installed the default eclipse from source.
When using the upgrading feature of eclipse, I add the link for EGIT. And it tells me that it need org.eclipse.core.runtime >=3.4 version.
From this, it seems that the EGIT plug-in requires a eclipse version newer than 3.4, while the eclipse I installed from source are only 3.2.
So, my next step is trying to manually install a latest eclipse.
While this trying is really frustrating for me. As I am in office time now, my Ubuntu are at home. So, just post this thread in advance. The detail frustration I met will be posted after work time.

Ubuntu is a bit behind on Java and Eclipse versions.

Did you try the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EclipseWebTools (the steps are described better at http://flurdy.com/docs/eclipse/install.html) to install the correct Java and Eclipse versions ?
