I've been using Ubuntu on my laptop for several months now and it's great. I decided to install it on my desktop, but have run into several problems.
During my latest attempt to install Ubuntu, everything worked at first. I logged in and ran the update manager (~100 items needed upgrading.). About 2/3 of the way through, while installing the latest linux kernel my computer froze for about 10 minutes, so I restarted. Upon restart I entered my username, then my password, and when I hit enter the computer freezes. I restarted and it froze again while trying to log on.
