Saw this on Reddit.com with the headline
You have to read it all.

I just wonder, is it really possible to be so ignorant?
Why would the paper even print it?
The language seems OK, meaning the person is literate.

At first I thought it was some sort of funny page in the paper, but it looks like the top of the page just says "Letters", giving no hint of that.

Is this simply fake?

Must be a quality paper that. Not only do they print that nonsense, but they've got a whacking great typo in the headline.

Meh, I have seen plenty of crazy letters to the editor.
One I saw recently was advocating the outlawing of supply-and-demand.@_@

Did any of you actually went to Reddit and looked at the comments?

The first comment has a link to this: http://www.snopes.com/humor/letters/daylight.asp

So to sum it up: It was meant as a joke.

Whew what a relief, I thought the idiocy level was inconsistent with the writing. Usually I read the comments, since they are often quite funny. I wonder why I missed them this time?
I still wonder why the paper printed it, but they probably just thought it was funny.

My daughter was interviewed by a German TV station at the start of daylight saving last year. She told them that we have 2 states that believe that cows stop producing milk, the curtains fade and you get cancer from ds.
The edited version that made it to tv made out that those were her opinions.

Wow that sucks, it should be illegal to misrepresent an interview, so it shows people saying the opposite of what they actually did.

I think the one about the cows, is quite simply that you cannot suddenly change the hour you milk your cows, if you do that, they can get inflammations, which make the milk unusable, some farmers don't even adjust their watches, but live in a sort of dual timezone during ds.

You often get these "crazy" tales about daylight saving. They seem to be made up by the pro-daylight saving lobby to make anti-daylight saving peeps look like ignorant hicks with no valid arguments. This comes up a lot where I live as there is currently a HUGE daylight savings debate.

For the record I am very strongly against daylight saving. (Unless they do backwards daylight saving, or daylight saving in Winter. Either of those would make sense.)
