I found this: <http://etree-scripts.sourceforge.net/>

Which should be in Ubuntu. Essential for traders and others into great audio quality. In my Fedora days the package shorten was always available. Now, shnconv from "shntools" does nothing.

Now, where (if at all) can I post requests like this?

The debs listed in the link work in Ubuntu, but it should be included like other packages in Ubuntu.

I will tell you, but first I have to say something you don't want to hear.

Even if you ask, it might not enter the Ubuntu repos. Well it won't until Dapper no matter what (the repos are pretty much frozen now) but even then it might not become a part of Ubuntu. As long as you can deal with that possibility before you request such a thing, the correct thing to do would be to ask a MOTU about it:

Thanks!
I've been dealing with this stuff for quite some time, so I'm aware, but thanks for the head's up!
