I tried downloading the xubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso first, but it wouldn't get past the first menu on VBox, either installing or live. So I tried the US, Canadian & and UK metalinks using DownThemAll! in Firefox and got this error message for all of them:

"The checksums of the download didn't match.
This means the download is corrupt or compromised, unless the provided checksum was bad in the first place.
Therefore it is recommended not to use the downloaded data."

Xubuntu 8.04.1 downloaded & worked fine. Is it possible there is a problem with the 9.04 image file?

Hi, try using a torrent to download the ubuntu iso, this allows for the iso to be checked and any missing parts downloaded.

Thanks, good idea. However my concern was that this was an issue at the server side, not just my problem. I was hoping a moderator or someone could check...
