Greetings,
I have a Sony Vaio labtop that is currently set to dual-boot Windows XP and an older version of Kubuntu (I believe 6.10, but I am not certain.)
My top goal is to completely wipe the HDD and install Ubuntu 8.04, but upgrading the existing install is a workable solution.
The problem? The CD drive is dead, and the system BIOS will not boot from USB. Since it boots through GRUB, but as far as I can tell, the GRUB bootloader does not recognize the USB drive, either.
Any suggestions?
