A quick question - are you wanting to JUST remove the Windows partition, or clean the disk completely off & do an install of Ubuntu etc. ?

A lot depends on how you installed Ubuntu...

If you are certain you wish to clean out the windows partition, Gparted will do that for you .. But I'm not 100% what you wish to achieve.

There are a lot of options ... Pop over to

To narrow down what you wish to do. - If you are still unsure, re-post here.

Phill.

Yeah, we understand your questions.

Now, why don't you go real the link that phillw posted and come back here after you've read it -- instead of posting the same things over and over.

Do you want to keep windows - or completely wipe it & all documents, music, photos etc. that you have on it ?

It is DECISION time.

Regardless of what you choose...

1) Ensure you burn your Ubuntu CD as an iso disc, not a data disc.
2) Burn your disk at 4X, or even 1X speed. People burning installation discs at high speeds have had problems.
