My brother in law asked me to help him dual boot his machine with Ubuntu on his 19th birthday! I just wanted to publicly wish him well in his Ubuntu adventures!

Congrats to your brother-in-law. Welcome to the new frontier! Hopefully it won't be too long before he asks you how to get rid of the Windows partitiion. ;)

My brother in law gave me this stupid computer in the first place.

Before that I was a happy ignorant technophobe.

Brother in laws huh

Wrong way round.

Ultimate cliche. Best mates married twin sisters.

Sorry

For clarification, I was attending my brother in law's birthday party when I saw the default Jaunty screen on his computer. I IMMEDIATELY inquired as to if windows was still on his computer. He informed me it was just the Live cd and he was testing it. So we spent the evening dual booting his machine. So I didn't force it on him. Now I may have informed him...repetitively...over the last year or so...how much I have enjoyed using Ubuntu, but there were no shotguns, water boarding or any other form of coersion involved.

BTW the forum shows Ubuntu as a misspelled word.

BTW the forum shows Ubuntu as a misspelled word.I think it is Firefox that is showing the misspelling. I do not think the forum has a spell checker.

Alright then, You win, it probably is Firefox... Well there goes the irony of that statement. On that note I am very glad Firefox has a spell checker. Otherwise no one could understand my posts!
