Hi guys,

Well I just purchased an eeepc 1005ha and installed eeebuntu nbr 3.0.1. However, there's this common problem with little to no internet access via wireless or ether. In xp it works great.

But I did find a great solution for fixing wireless which was to install a *deb from:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/...c/2.6.28-11.11 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/i386/linux-backports-modules-2.6.28-11-generic/2.6.28-11.11)
posted on this forum link:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1197614&highlight=Eee

However, this did not fix my ethernet problem. So I thought if I update then maybe there's some fix. Updating caused my wireless reception range to shorten severely and my ethernet still fails.
Can anyone help me with this mayhem? It's been 2 weeks now and I've given up on searching!
There's a lot of people who are having this problem on eeebuntu.org but the responses are not as fast as you guys.

Thanks in advance,
Stephen

Oh, currently I have 2.6.29-1-netbook for the kernel.

PS. I've only used ubuntu previously for a couple months, so step-by-step instructions would be awesome =)

Hi there,

I have the same eeepc as you, just bought it. I found that in XP the ethernet connection was disabled. Going further, I took a look in the BIOS, and the LAN (ethernet) connection was disabled in the BIOS. Now, I have enabled it, but haven't tested it, since my wireless is working great. I have the same kernel as you.
