Changing where desktop icons go by default..

Hey, dont know if you get what I mean by this but:

When you save something to the desktop, it automatically goes to the top left of the desktop. I was wondering if there was any way I could change this, so by default they would start to save on the bottom left, or wherever.

This is the problem:

As you can see, my conky setup is blocking the top left, and when something gets saved to the desktop, I cant see it or move it without using the terminal.

So, can I set them to go somewhere else on the Desktop by default? I would rather do this than change my conky setup.
